When planning this trip, I put many dots on the map, then had to connect them. Our plan is now to spend a couple nights in many places. Week 5 (of 9) hit many points across CR.
Nosara
The primary attraction of Nosara is the beach and yoga. Sunsets here rival those of Tamarindo. The area is primarily residential, with a small area of touristy beach shops, a few restaurants, and some fantastic food trucks. As far as things to do, yoga is the primary draw of the area. We also went to a escape room (and escaped!), spent a long while at some thriving tide pools, and saw a sea turtle nesting at Playa Ostional!

Volcán Poas

In the midst of the line of volcanoes that cuts through CR lies Volcán Poas. It’s about a 10 minute hike from the visitor center to the rim. With the tightly controlled process, each group is permitted 20 minutes to view the crater. On our arrival, a thick cloud obscured our view. Determined to enjoy it anyway, we took a few pictures, read the info sign, and counted the circles on the ground that mark where the eruption of 2016 impacted the viewpoint.

Just as our 20 minutes increment was ending, the cloud miraculously cleared, and we had our personal glimpse of the crater! Feeling very fortunate, we all reflected on how our disappointment was quickly shifted to excitement!
Sarchí

The cultural and historical importance of oxcarts was explained beautifully in a tour of this operational factory in Sarchí. Once a simple utilitarian item for transporting coffee, they are now an expression of art tied to the historical pride of economic development.

Children’s Museum in San José
This children’s museum is a fun spot with plenty to learn and do, but is most recommended for children who speak Spanish.
San José
The bustling streets of San Jose had a pedestrian Corridor four us to explore. We most enjoyed the market area. And of course, ice cream!

Personalized souvenir

On our last night in San Jose, we found an area with so many highly rated restaurants it was hard to choose. I am most impressed at the care that we notice so many restaurants put into displaying food and drinks. Right next to some top-notch flavors, finding good food is not difficult in Costa Rica.

As we close out our fifth week in CR, we are headed out to La Pavona, on the way to The Caribbean coast!
